The path of the righteous recruiter is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil recruitment GDPR mythmakers and GDPR quick-fix vendors. Blessed is Darren, who in the name of RecruiterWEB, shepherds the recruiters through the valley of GDPR snake oil, for he is truly the recruiter’s keeper and the buster of GDPR recruitment myths. And Darren will strike down with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy recruiters. And you will know he is the “Recruitment GDPR Defender” when he lays his sarcasm upon thee.
# Myth 1 Recruiters hoard data for no reason.
This is about as stupid as stupid gets; nonetheless, it is trotted out as a reason by almost all GDPR pundits who have not worked in or with recruitment. Sadly, it is also pushed out by some suppliers who do have recruitment knowledge as well.
I am sure the keyboard warriors will have their say, so I do acknowledge there is redundant data inside recruitment companies. I do acknowledge there is data held in places they have forgotten. I just don’t support the implied or blatant message from most that recruiters are ignorant when it comes to data storage or security.
