OK, so today we will discuss widescreen versus block design for recruitment websites. In the image below, you can see the website has image content in a few areas which extend to either side (left & right) of the website’s core features. Based upon the size and shape of your computer screen or laptop screen you will see some, all or maybe none of this image area.
Widescreen has become very trendy as we have moved into the 2010 to 2020 decade, and in 2015 you might say demand for this design is at its height. So is it hard to do – and does it cost any more?
Thankfully, the answer is no; if your developer knows what they are doing, these will all be standard settings they can allow for the graphics layer of your website.
There is no right or wrong way to have a design; it is more about what is on trend and what is not. In the base of the block design on a 27-inch Mac screen (which these images are made on) you will see quite a bit of white in the block design, whereas on a 14, 15, 17-inch computer screen you will see very little.
